Description

The bouquet is perfumed but still closed and needs time to breathe.  It opens with aromas of raspberry and plum layered with hints of dark chocolate.  The mouthfeel is dry, medium plus viscosity with smooth and silky tannins.  The palate opens to layers of spice, dark berry with ample fruit unmasked by oak.  With a little time, it opens to a touch more spice, black pepper, tobacco leaf and dark chocolate.  The very light regimen of oak allows the fruit to carry on with a fairly long finish structured by this naturally tannic varietal that finishes with hints earth and plum.
